Apologies for not posting yesterday but every year it takes us all just a little bit longer to recover from the maelstrom of activity which is Ceremony festival.
On reflection Saturday was just an incredible day of new music and it would be remiss of us not to thank all the bands that performed - Enjoyable Listens, Bugbear, Vehicle, Your Mates Ex, Tanzana, Canned Pineapple, Little Grandad, Makeshift Art Bar, Disgusting Sisters, Lemonsuckr, Home Counties and the mighty Deadletter for their brilliant headline set.
The day would not be possible without the brilliant staff at Esquires, who kept everything ticking over throughout the day, from Mash and Josh on the sound, Molly, Martin and Karen on the lights, Pete and the bar team and the main man Jack on the door alongside Jezza.
As we are fond of saying, a huge amount of preparation goes into Ceremony and every year we have the same concerns – will people turn up for the earlier bands, will people stay until the very end, and every year you lot amaze us by packing both rooms out from the very start and keeping the energy going until we ring last orders, whatever the weather. We had loads of lovely comments on Saturday, some from people who have attended every single Ceremony event to date, and there were even one or two whispers of ‘best one ever…’
As you might have seen from the posters dotted around the venue, Ceremony 6.5 will take place on Saturday 30 January 2027 and it’s not hyperbole on our behalf to state the line-up is already looking pretty unmissable. No clues, but we think a lot of you will be very, very happy. If you trust our judgement, you can pick up an early bird ticket now for £27.50 plus booking fees. Thanks to Arts Council England there are also a very limited number of ‘Art is for Everyone’ tickets available for just £10 (plus booking fees) to those under the age of 25 or anyone on a low income / struggling financially.
We have our own, but who was your favourite on Saturday? Pictures from Kane Howie and David Jackson.
