The Roar Club and Club Biscuit are beside themselves with excitement to announce that they have somehow persuaded Tim Burgess to perform at Bedford Esquires on Tuesday the 17th September.
Author, DJ, champion tweeter, record label owner and cereal & coffee magnate, Tim Burgess is a music obsessive who has spent the past two decades as the frontman of one of the UK’s most popular and enduring bands, The Charlatans. Yet despite all that, the number one albums and arena tours, Tim has also found the time to release two quite wonderful solo albums; most recently 2012’s critically acclaimed ‘Oh No I Love You’.
Recorded with Kurt Wagner from Lambchop, ‘Oh No I Love You’ is a beautiful mix of wide-eyed Northern melancholy and Country tinged soul, topped with Burgess’ unmistakable vocals which the modfather himself, Mr Paul Weller, described as his favourite album of the year.
This is an unmissable opportunity to see one of the most iconic frontman of his generation in a venue the size of which Tim has not played in for over 20 year. Support on the evening will be provided by the excellent Hatcham Social, who will also be Tim’s backing band for the evening. Tickets are £16 in advance, available from http://www.wegottickets.com / Danny’s Bar and Luscious Juice Bar.
