The Slow Readers Club + Guests

We are delighted to confirm that after an absence of eight years, THE SLOW READERS CLUB will be returning to Bedford on Thursday the 22nd April 2027.

Following a landmark 2026 which saw the band sharing stages with Doves and Gene in addition to playing to huge crowds supporting The Cure, the Manchester 4 piece will be touring in April 2027 as a precursor to the release of their new album ‘The Space Between’. This tour will see The Slow Readers Club playing intimate and independent grassroots music venues, which we are overjoyed includes Bedford Esquires.

Their forthcoming album is due to be released in September 2027 and follows 2025’s ‘Out of a Dream’, which reached No.11 in the UK Albums Chart, continuing a run of successful independent releases that includes the ‘The Joy of the Return’ and ‘Build A Tower’.

Known for their atmospheric blend of post-punk, electronics and emotionally charged songwriting, The Slow Readers Club have spent more than 15 years building a fiercely loyal following through a combination of acclaimed albums and powerfully emotive live performances. You may have caught them supporting an impressive roster of artists which includes not only The Cure but also the Pixies, James, Noel Gallagher, Morrissey, The Jesus and Mary Chain and The Charlatans.

Tickets for this very intimate show are initially available to those who pre-order the album via www.slowreadersclub.co.uk, with general sale via Seetickets on Friday the 30th October.

In association with Arts Council England, a very limited number of general sale tickets will be available for just £10 to those on a low income or struggling with increases with the cost of living. These reduced price admission tickets are also available to anyone under the age of 25, regardless of their financial situation.
