Having played shows with the likes of Mayday Parade, We Are The Ocean and Kids in Glass Houses already this year, Natives are beginning to make big waves in the music scene. The quintet consisting of Jim Thomas (Vocals), Andy White (Drums), Greg Day (Bass), Jack Fairbrother (Guitar) and Ash Oliver (Guitar) may have only released two tracks but that hasn’t stopped them from gaining a large following of fans. With their first track Big Plans being released as a free download, it was just a taster of things to come. Making all the right first impressions with its fast paced guitars, ferocious back line and catchy lyrics, we predict that Natives will be around for the long term. It’s clear why they chose to release The Island as their first single, as it really shows the true variations in sound they possess; they can flaunting all the makings of a summer anthem, turning even the saddest and emotive lyrics into a catchy sing-along chorus, and are then effortlessly able to layer them over blistering drums and guitar riffs to make you melt.
Natives have everything a brilliant pop-rock band needs: strong guitar riffs, heavy kicking drums and belting choruses destined to hook you from the word go! Having recorded tracks in LA with renowned producer John Feldmann (Panic At The Disco, The Used, All Time Low) that are itching to be released, the band have been flaunting these tracks at the many live shows recently played. Witnessing a Natives live set is a truly special experience because of their ferocious onstage energy, incredible stage presence and ability to perform phenomenally in front of crowds. With a headline tour planned for December, this is the perfect opportunity to hear new unheard material before the album release in 2013.
