Whilst most bands try to map out their futures and micro manage a game plan of navigating their way through the music business, Dirt Box Disco instead concentrated on writing and recording a truck load of rock and roll songs that clock in at under 3 minutes. With every year and every album, the crowds grew. Packed out pubs became sold out venues (such as the legendary Rock City in Nottingham) and they quickly went from opening slots to becoming bonafide festival headliners in their own right, sometimes performing in front of 3000+ people.
Yes, they all dress strangely and consider themselves freaks. And no, they didn’t really foresee themselves becoming quite so popular. But rest assured that these guys truly mean business. Live, they are armed with as many short, sharp blasts of glam-pop-punk perfection as the Ramones had. The kind of songs that upon your first listen, you can’t help but sing along to and then end up with an immoveable ear-worm for a week. They’ve toured the UK with the likes of the Misfits and the Wildhearts, they play a wide variety of festivals and headline their own shows up and down their own country on a regular basis and have toured mainland Europe three times. But 2019 looks to be their biggest year yet….
