SUMMARY:Alfie Templeman - album release show
DESCRIPTION:We are absolutely THRILLED that Alfie Templeman will be coming to home\, to Bedford Esquires to launch his new album Radiosoul. We are teaming up with legendary record shop\, Slide to offer album/ticket bundles for this exclusive event. \n\nTo support Alfie and get him up the charts please consider buying an album/ticket bundle\, which is just an additional £4 for a CD album. This also helps us put on more of these events.\n\n‘Radiosoul’\, Alfie Templeman’s second studio album\, is an ambitious suite of tracks that showcase a bold new acid-pop direction for the Bedfordshire-born polymath. The record features production from Templeman as well as Nile Rodgers\, Dan Carey\, Karma Kid\, Oscar Scheller\, Will Bloomfield\, Justin Young\, Josh Scarbrow and Charlie J Perry. It is an album of self-discovery\, one that zips between genres at whim and showcases a newfound incisiveness and acerbic humour to Templeman’s lyricism\, whilst retaining the sense of joy that defined his previous releases. It is the work of a prodigiously talented songwriter truly coming into his own.\n\nAdmission will be via e-ticket. These will be delivered to your email address in time for the performance (24 – 48 hours before the performance).\nYou can select in-store collection or postage for albums. \nAll gigs at Esquires are 14 plus. However\, 14 and 15 year olds can only attend if accompanied by a parent / legal guardian

SUMMARY:PORIJ + Sam Girling
DESCRIPTION:Ceremony Festival Warm Up ShowPORIJ + Sam Girling\n7:30pm Friday 31st May – Esquires\, Bedford\n\nWe are very excited to be bringing one of the hottest new artists around\, Porij to Esquires for an exclusive\, one off show to warm up for Ceremony Festival the next day!\nPorij have been causing serious waves since releasing their debut album and come to us fresh from selling out their UK headline run\, including a show at London’s Electric Ballroom. Jopining the band on that tour was Bedford’s very own\, Sam Girling\, who also joins them for this hometown show!\n\nPorij have endured the sharp pains of self-discovery. Every raw nerve\, every bloody scrape and sprain\, have been necessary for that unavoidable thing we must grit our teeth and bare:growing up. Vocalist and keyboardist Scout Moore (Eggy)\, bassist James Middleton\, guitarist Jacob Maguire and drummer Nathan Carroll are armed with hard-won experience\, strengthened bonds and a renewed sense of passion. Their debut album Teething is both a coming-of-age story and a bottling of the particular magic that is unmistakably – and definitively – Porij.\nWith warm-up slots for Metronomy\, Coldplay and Friendly Fires alongside their own crowd-igniting shows\, heads turned. Porij were met with a landslide of attention at press and radio\, lauded as “ones to watch” by tastemakers including The Guardian\, NME and BBC 6 Music.\n\nThe arrival of Teething invites you to take a leap beyond seeing dance music as a genre\, built from this type of kick or that type of snare\, and instead as its own dimension: a place you can escape to. It pays homage to the language of sounds on the dancefloor which have encouraged generations to feel\, not to think. While\, lyrically\, the record delves into the tangle of lived experience\, musically\, it will free you from it.\n——–\nThis will likely be the only time we’ll be able to get this band to town\, so set those alarms…\nTickets go on sale at 10am\, Bank Holiday Monday 6th May from Seetickets and local outlets from Tuesday 7th May.

SUMMARY:The Men They Couldn't Hang + Skimmington Ride
DESCRIPTION:THE MEN THEY COULDN’T HANG + Skimmington Ride \n7:30pm Friday 17th May\, Bedford Esquires \n Pleased to announce English-Folk-Punk Group THE MEN THEY COULDN’T HANG will be making their debut at Bedford Esquires as part of their 40th Anniversary Tour  – The bands unique combination of barnstorming live performance\, rich storytelling ability\, often rooted in historical and social themes\, and mix of Celtic\, Folk and Country flavours saw them rise rapidly to national and international prominence where they have remained through dint of sheer tenacity and a passionate fan base. \nFounded in 1984\, TMTCH evolved from the Shepherd’s Bush squatting and busking scene to make their debut supporting Poguemahone at the Electric Ballroom in Camden in the Easter of that year. \nSwiftly their uproarious and engaging style\, coupled with keenly contemporary songs\, gained a passionate national following\, leading to a 40 year career filled with much loved music\, a dedicated fan community and high octane performances. \nTouring continually throughout their career\, TMTCH have crossed the globe by way of Europe\, Canada\, USA\, Iceland\, Egypt and Estonia. They have appeared at festivals such as Glastonbury\, Roskilde\, Reading\, Pink Pop and Cambridge Folk and have appeared with a roll call of International artists such as David Bowie\, Van Morrison\, Bo Diddley\, The Smiths\, Elvis Costello and the Oyster Band to name a few. \nTheir recordings have been acclaimed in print\, on radio and online; from their definitive version of the anti war classic Green Fields of France to the anti fascist anthem Ghosts of Cable Street and the epic historical ballads\, Ironmasters and The Colours. Recent albums The Defiant (2014) and Cockahoop (2018) have seen TMTCH rise again into prominence; their vitality undimmed. \nDevastated by the passing of friend and founder member Stefan Cush during the Covid lockdown\, TMTCH are responding in the only way they know how; writing\, recording and playing live to their ever loyal and growing community of fans. An anniversary tour is planned for 2024 when they will celebrate their 40th year of raising hell with special events and a ‘Best of’ release\, then in 2025 they will be releasing a brand new album. \nTickets priced £20 are on sale in person from Esquires Bar & Slide Record Shop (booking fee free) and available online from Seetickets from 10am on Thursday 30th November.
