Standing on the tip of the nation\, three quarters of your vision is taken up by the epic expanse of water that\, though pock marked by quaint archipelagos in the distance\, only ends the Arctic Circle.  Behind you\, the rest of the country unfurls\, but it’s a long way to Glasgow\, Manchester or London. Here\, in John O’Groats\, six\, stranded kindred spirits found each other and transcended geography and the odds to build record collections\, amass musical instruments and\, finally\, win favour in those distant towns and cities with their own set of intricately crafted songs. \n“Scotland’s coolest new gang” (NME) are Jordan Shearer (Vocals)\, Darren Coghill (Drums)\, Kevin Swanson (Guitar)\, Jamie Swanson (Guitar)\, Calvin Wilson (Bass) and Liam Whittles (Keyboards).  \nWithout the songs\, what becomes of a band? It’s the start and end point for Neon Waltz\, gathering influences from rain-soaked indie to Californian sunshine-flecked psychedelia amidst picturesque isolation\, before converting the inspiration they have found into breathlessly crystalline\, chiming\, guitar-forward pop. Expansive choruses accompanied by fairground keyboards ring from a remote\, semi-derelict house in a place where nobody will ever find them\, but their ambition and gift for melody is a secret that even the windswept\, castle-strewn highlands couldn’t keep. \nSigned to Ignition Records\, singles including the sky-scraping perfection of ‘Dreamers’ and ‘Perfect Frame’ (“grandiose gorgeousness” – DIY Magazine) have set expectations high amongst fans waiting in anticipation for their debut album\, due for release in summer 2017. DESCRIPTION:Pop Will Eat Itself\n+Venus Fly Trap\nBedford Esquires\, Thursday 25th May 2017 \nPop Will Eat Itself make their Bedford Esquires debut on Thursday 25th May as they warm up for the massive Manchester ‘Indie Daze’ event.  Dark\, heavy and every bit as intense and energetic as ever they are settling into a more Industrial Rock vibe\, Stealing ideas from almost every genre\, hip-hop beats and rave-culture’s anthemic swells\, the energy and attitude of punk\, metal riffing and the big bass sound of reggae and post-punk. \nIn 1986\, the line-up of singer and guitarist Clint Mansell\, guitarist and keyboardist Adam Mole\, bassist Richard March\, and drummer Graham Crabb formed as Wild And Wandering in the English town of Stourbridge. After some months and one e.p. they changed their name to Pop Will Eat Itself (PWEI) and earned attention from the indie scene for their first e.p.\, The Poppies Say Grrr! on Chapter 22. At the time they played short\, fast\, slightly psychedelic punk-pop tunes and went on with that for three more e.p.’s before starting to incorporate house and hip hop beats and samples on Beaver Patrol. By autumn 1987 PWEI released their first album\, Box Frenzy\, with some tunes leaning towards new wave\, some towards hip hop and acid house. A drum machine called Dr. Nightmare was installed and Graham Crabb took the second microphone.  \nAfter the 12″ Def.Con.One PWEI signed a deal with RCA and released Can U Dig It? in 1989\, which would be the first of 12 PWEI singles going UK top 40. In the same year their seminal second album This Is The Day…This Is The Hour…This Is This! appeared to public and critical acclaim for its witty fusion of rock and electronic music.  \nPWEI opted for an even more electronic\, slightly darker and moodier approach on Cure For Sanity\, their third album\, which appeared in 1990 alongside PWEI’s alternative soccer world cup theme\, Touched By The Hand Of Cicciolina\, a fusion of dub and acid house.  \nElectronics took a backseat on 1992’s The Looks Or The Lifestyle\, when Fuzz Townshend was brought in as a drummer. PWEI reinvented themselves as grungy groovers and released Get The Girl! Kill The Baddies! as their highlight single. PWEI had been sacked by RCA at the time the single went number 9 in the UK in early 1993.  \nThe band signed with Infectious in the UK and Nothing in the US and released R.S.V.P.\, Ich Bin Ein Auslander\, and Everything’s Cool as singles in 1993 and 1994. The tunes displayed a development from where they had left towards dark industrial rock. The mixture on their fifth album Dos Dedos Mis Amigos was received well and won the band many new fans.  \nNonetheless\, the band only released the remix album Two Fingers My Friends after that and collapsed upon the departure of Graham Crabb in 1996. Crabb released an album as Golden Claw Musics\, Richard March went on to form Bentley Rhythm Ace\, Fuzz Townshend went solo\, and Clint Mansell has done film soundtracks. In 2005\, a reunion tour and new songs were announced\, but the reformation fizzled out by the end of the year.  \nIn 2010\, in the wake of the dissolution of Vile Evils\, Graham Crabb announced his intention to reconstitute PWEI. By 2011\, Crabb had recruited new band members\, and PWEI released a new album\, New Noise Designed By A Sadist\, and went on tour. \nIn July 2011\, a new line-up was announced with a line originally featuring Graham Crabb and saw fellow vocalist Mary Byker ( Bykers on Acid\, Apollo 440\, Pigface)\, guitarist Tim Muddiman (Gary Numan)\, drummer Jason Bowld (Pitchshifter\, Killing Joke) and bassist Davey Bennett (This Burning Age) however recent shows in 2016 have seen original drummer Fuzz Townsend return to the drum stall along with original member Kerry Hammond (aka The Buzzard) who has also been on guitar duties for all PWEI 2016 gigs. \n—————————— \nTickets are on sale priced £18 advance from 9am on Friday 9th November from Seetickets and We Got Tickets and can also be picked up in person from Bedford Esquires Bar\, Planet Boutique\, Mario’s hair Design Kempston and Vinyl Revelations in Luton.

DESCRIPTION:THE PAD PRESENTS\nhttp://www.thepadpresents.com \nSpace are returning to Esquires on Saturday 20th May 2017! \nThe band release the much anticipated new studio album “Give me your Future” in late 2016 and embark on a new tour of the same name in April – June across the UK and Ireland. \nThe new album is being recorded and produced by Grammy and Brit award winning producer Steve Levine who has worked with The Clash\, Culture Cub\, Beach Boys\, Deniece Williams and Gary Moore to name a few. \n2015 was a good year for the band with Female of the Species making the top of the al-bum charts with the “TFI Album” – (Number 1 in June 2015) Followed by the release of the “Strange World” single and the sold out 30 date UK tour of the same name.. \nTommy said he was very proud of the Strange World single and the video shot by Mark McNulty\, “it is a return to the true origins of the band\, the tour has been mental with the whole audiences joining us on stage for the final encore of Female\, just amazing nights with the fans\, very special for me\, for me its all about playing new music to new and old fans and playing them the hits” \nThe bands last album release was ‘Attack Of The Mutant 50ft Kebab’- their first new album for nine years. Proud to note how Space have always stood out from the ‘normal\,’ Tommy concedes that their last album has the usual signature Space quirkiness\, with some extra ingredients add-ed to the mix – he describes the songs as a mish-mash of SKA\, Punk and the classic Space sound. “When we tour\, we love playing the old stuff\, but I always knew I wanted to record some new material. DESCRIPTION:The Parrots swoop back into Bedford this May after winning the crowd over whilst supporting Hooton Tennis Club at the tail end of 2015. Hailing from the same garage rock scene in Madrid as Hinds (lead singer and guitarist Diego Garcia produced their debut LP) The Parrots have swiftly earned themselves a reputation as quite literally the world’s greatest three piece party band. Gigs are frenetic\, sweaty affairs which usually end with the crowd on the stage\, or the band in the crowd\, or both!  \n‘With their frantic live performances and a solid set of tunes behind them\, the sunbaked stoners are on to a winner’ – Clash  \n‘A racket in the best possible way’ – Q Magazine  \n‘The Parrots are the perfect party-starter’ – Line of Best Fit  \nThis is a special warm up gig for The Parrots show at the Great Escape Festival in Brighton.  \nAfter much secrecy we can now also reveal that YOTA (Youth of the Apocolypse) will be also be performing\, in what we understand is only their second ever gig. The new supergroup formed by Jamie Reynolds (Klaxons)\,  Jeff Wooton (Beady Eye / Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds) and Seye Adelekan (Gorrilaz)\, it’s promises to be something quite special…. \nTickets are £7.50 each\, available from all the usual outlets.
