SUMMARY:Zed Bias + Matt Jam Lamont
DESCRIPTION:We’re very pleased to announce a midsummer celebration of bass is being held on Saturday 20th June with a stacked line up\, ft Zed Bias AKA Maddslinky\, Matt Jam Lamont (Tuff Jam)\, Sean Harvey and Covie!\n\nZED BIAS:Dave Jones\, AKA Zed Bias\, Maddslinky\, Phuturistix…. a producer and DJ from deep within the UK dance music scene. He scored his first top 30 track with ‘Neighbourhood’ before setting the blueprint for the darker UK Garage sound at the end of the 90s. He was asked to mix the definitive “Sound of the Pirates” compilation and at this time began to infuse a jazzier influence into his tracks.\nFrom the start of his career\, continuously until present day\, Zed Bias has been engaged in remixing duties for a huge number of well known artists\, from Missy Elliot and Mary J Blige to The Streets.\n\nMATT JAM LAMONT:As one of the stalwarts of UK Garage\, a champion of the genre in its infancy and now one of its most beloved forefathers\, Matt ‘Jam’ Lamont’s tireless involvement in the scene has been integral to the success of the movement as a whole.\nFollowing a residency at South London’s The Arches\, Lamont’s career really skyrocketed back in 1993 where a chance meeting between him and fellow DJ Karl ‘Tuff Enuff’ Brown gave birth to the now legendary production and remix team Tuff Jam. Leaving in their wake a massive back catalogue of defining records\, both Tuff Jam and Matt ‘Jam’ himself have appropriately attained the status of figureheads of the UK garage scene.\n\nSEAN HARVEY:Sean Harvey is a respected UK Garage DJ firmly established within the mainstream garage scene. Hailing from Bedford\, Sean’s journey began in 1999 on the legendary pirate radio station Risk FM. Over the past decade\, Sean has cemented his position as a standout name for garage lovers\, sharing stages with heavyweights including Artful Dodger\, DJ Luck & MC Neat\, MC Kie & Wideboys\, and many more.\n\nCOVIE:No stranger to Bedford Sam Covington (Covie) the home ground talent opens up the bill. Covie has worked with artists including Annie Mac\, Edris Elba and Pete Tong\, Mark Knight and Roger Sanchez performing in some of the world’s most famous clubs including Pacha\, Ministry Of Sound\, Ocean Beach\, Egg Club and the Ibiza Tour in the UK.\nSo let’s put on our classics and we’ll have a little dance\, shall we?\n\nTiered tickets are on sale now from Seetickets starting at £20 for early birds:

SUMMARY:John Otway (solo)
DESCRIPTION:JOHN OTWAY (solo show) + guests\n7.30pm\, Friday 26th June\, Bedford Esquires\n\nJohn Otway is an English singer-songwriter who has built a sizeable cult audience through extensive touring\, a surreal sense of humour and a self-deprecating underdog persona.\n\nFrom the age of 9\, John Otway knew he wanted to be a pop star. But even at that young age\, having listened to his sister’s Beatles and Stones records\, he knew he would never be able to do what they do. However\, when his sister got the latest Bob Dylan album\, he knew there was a place for him and he set about learning how to play guitar.\n\nA visit to a fortune teller would have a profound effect on the young Otway. After gazing into her crystal ball\, she confirmed that Otway would indeed be a star and would have success with a blonde-haired musician. Otway took this prediction very seriously and teamed up with Wild Willy Barrett (the only musician he knew who fitted the fortune teller’s description). In 1972\, the pair released their first single. Gypsy/Misty Mountain was a dedication to the fortune teller who had assured Otway that fame and stardom was just around the corner. The single would be the first of a string of flops\, but it did capture the attention of The Who’s Pete Townshend who offered to produce a number of tracks for the duo.\n\nTickets priced £16 are on sale from Seetickets and in person from Slide Record Shop and Bedford Esquires bar.

SUMMARY:Antarctic Monkeys
DESCRIPTION:Meet the Antarctic Monkeys… The longest serving and without doubt\, the BEST tribute and the UK’s Number One band to the Arctic Monkeys bar none!\n\nOriginally formed in 2001\, the band performed original songs under the band names of ‘The Ryde’ and then ‘The Empires’ in and around the West Midlands. Looking to build more of a following the lads came upon the idea of performing as a covers band and using their original band to support themselves to play to larger audiences.\n\nThis idea coincided with the release of Arctic Monkeys debut album ‘Whatever People Say I Am\, That’s What I’m Not’ and following a jamming session of ‘ I Bet That You Look Good On The Dancefloor’\, the Antarctic Monkeys were formed!\n\nSince that day the band has gone from strength to strength and never looked back. Headlining the Biggest Tribute festivals\, achieving their very own annual tour of the O2 Academy venues nationwide as well as touring internationally in Ireland\, Austria\, Belgium\, Holland\, Dubai\, Sicily and most recently a country wide tour of Australia. With sold out shows becoming a common occurrence\, the demand for the Antarctic Monkeys is now greater than ever!\n\nWith their impeccable attention to detail\, their passion for delivering an authentic Arctic Monkeys experience\, and a set list that has something for everybody\, Antarctic Monkeys are the original and most experienced band in their field of mimicking Turner\, Helders\, Cookie and O’Malley perfectly!\n\n\n\nDo not accept any other imitation of Arctic Monkeys.\n\n\nThis show always sell out\, over to you !

SUMMARY:FEET + Human Interest | Pre-England v Panama GIG | Doors at 5pm\, curfew 9pm (Everywhere At Once powered by The National Lottery)
DESCRIPTION:FEET have been going for a decade now and\, with a couple albums under their belt – the most recent Make It Up having been released in 2024 they’re gearing up for another campaign. \nPrior to this\, they self released their debut album What’s Inside is More Than Just Ham in 2019. They’ve supported The Rolling Stones in 2022 and have received plenty of critical acclaim for their single releases. A third album is to be released this year through Submarine Cat Records and much more live shenanigans are yet to be had. No strangers to Esquires\, the band always bring their A game and were firing on all cylinders on their most recent UK jaunt earlier this year. \nSupport from stellar East London’s Human Interest. The band formed in between dreams and lockdowns\, bringing to life songs penned by Cat Harrison. Between lead vocalist and guitarist Harrison and bassist Tyler Damara Kelly\, they share an infectious joy beating at the heart of their moody songs. After touring with Self Esteem\, and playing as main support to Hinds and Tribes at the tail-end of 2021\, the duo released their acclaimed debut EP ‘Desire Paths’ in March 2022. Busy cutting their teeth on the live circuit during 2022\, they have forged a reputation for being one of the most exciting new bands in the UK. This will be a most welcome return to Esquires after last appearing at Ceremony 4 back in 2025. \nPlease note this is an early show\, scheduled to finish before England’s World Cup match\, making it the ideal warm‑up for a huge night of music and football. \nThink of it as the perfect double feature: guitars first\, football second. \nWe’re excited to be part of Everywhere At Once powered by The National Lottery this June. Taking place from 26-28 June\, it’s the UK’s biggest music festival on your doorstep with 1200+ gigs\, 500+ venues\, 1 weekend. Join us for a different kind of festival. Closer to the music. Where local matters. Where everyone belongs. \n#EverywhereAtOnce #BecauseOfYou

SUMMARY:Banks Arcade x Tropic Gold
DESCRIPTION:Banks Arcade + Tropic Gold \n7:30pm\, Friday 3rd July\, Bedford Esquires \nWe’re pleased to announce a double header with Banks Arcade + Tropic Gold\, coming to the venue in July! \nBanks Arcade are a modern heavy metal band that has dismantled the traditional genre walls to fuse the raw\, physical violence of metal with the maximalist energy of alternative electronic music and hip-hop. \nDrawing inspiration from underground electronic artists\, modern hip hop\, and classic metal-core the band has always been hellbent on creating something unique.\nThe identity of the band was forged by two best friends driven by a relentless desire to perfect. A partnership where life experiences range from Jazz degrees to professional MMA fighting. Born in a corner of the world where musical success seemed an impossibility\, Banks Arcade was built on a foundation of constant relocation and total reinvention. \nFor everyone involved\, the struggle was the catalyst for an unbreakable new identity. Over the past few years\, Banks Arcade has evolved from a New Zealand underdog to a global force. They have sold out headline shows across the Southern Hemisphere and dominated international stages\, including Download Festival\, while supporting heavyweights such as The Plot in You\, Northlane\, and Thornhill. \nWith a commitment to pushing musical limits\, Banks Arcade continues to redefine what a modern heavy band can be. \nTropic Gold is a UK-based band blending alternative\, metal\, pop\, and electronica. They create dynamic\, genre-bending music with emotional depth\, gaining support from BBC Radio 1\, RockSound and Kerrang! to name a few. Signed to UNFD\, their latest singles\, “HOLY HORROR” and “A PLACE CALLED EUPHORIA\,” showcase their bold\, evolving sound. Both tracks will feature on their upcoming EP\, SICK TO DEATH OF EVERYTHING\, set for release on March 7th. \nTickets are on sale from Seetickets on Friday 30th April from Seetickets.

SUMMARY:THIS IS THE KIT + Nadia Reid
DESCRIPTION:THIS IS THE KIT + Nadia Reid \n7:30pm\, Weds 8th July\, Bedford Esquires \n We are very pleased to announce the debut visit of THIS IS THE KIT to Bedford Esquires on Weds 8th July \nIn today’s fast-paced mid-apocalyptic world it can feel like a waste of time to speak about time at all. Why dwell on the past when we could just live in the present because the future won’t shut up about how bad it’s going to be? \nBut with This Is The Kit\, the pseudonym of songwriter / banjo strummer / pinhole camera lover / Winchester UK born Paris dweller Kate Stables\, we’re going to have to give time just a modicum of consideration. Because not only is Kate still here and making albums of cataclysmic honesty and welcoming tonal embraces\, they are continuing to grow\, which is probably the only smart way to move forward through time. \nThis Is The Kit’s music places companionship at a premium\, so being welcomed into its space feels like an obvious privilege\, on record and in concert hall with her stellar supporting cast of Rozi Plain (bass)\, Jamie Whitby-Coles (drums) and Neil Smith (guitar).  And at this current point in our confusing history\, continuing to be here at all\, to stand tall and make music to gather to\, that’s a heroic act. Joyful survival as an act of time-wasting\,  I’ll take that any day of the week. Look to This Is The Kit to spend at least one day of your week this year\, I guarantee it will be time well wasted. \nGuest support comes Nadia Reid\, the singer-songwriter and guitarist from Port Chalmers\, New Zealand. \nTickets will also be available at Slide Record Shop and Esquires Bar subject to availability.

SUMMARY:Big Truck
DESCRIPTION:BIG TRUCK are coming to Esquires in July! \nBig Truck is the sound of Laurie Vincent stepping into a different light. Known for the raw intensity of SOFT PLAY\, here he trades abrasion for atmosphere – crafting songs that move between indie-pop melody\, cinematic sweep\, and offbeat charm. Formed alongside longtime friend Sam Coppins and a tight-knit group of players (Asa Thallon & Justin Myles)\, the band feels both instinctive and expansive.  Their music blends jangled hooks reminiscent of The Cure and The Smiths with richer\, widescreen textures\, all anchored by lyrics that are candid\, wry\, and deeply human – balancing life’s small joys with its inevitable lows. Big Truck’s debut album is immediate and unpolished in the best way. It’s an album about acceptance of mistakes\, of contradictions\, of the messy middle ground\, and the quiet confidence that comes with it. \nTickets are £14 advance\, available from Seetickets and Slide Record Shop. – \nThis show is in the smaller room at the venue so an early ticket purchase is essential !

SUMMARY:The Wildhearts
DESCRIPTION:Few bands deliver rock ’n’ roll chaos with the consistency\, heart and sheer melodic punch of The Wildhearts\, and their return to Bedford Esquires on Friday 17th July is set to be one of the venue’s standout nights of the summer. Led by the indefatigable Ginger Wildheart\, the band remain a force of nature: riffs stacked like tower blocks\, choruses built to be shouted back\, and that unmistakable fusion of punk energy\, metal bite and power‑pop sparkle that no one else has ever quite replicated. \nFor almost 2 decades The Wildhearts have remained at the forefront of the British rock scene. From their classic début album Earth Vs (voted number one album of the year in Kerrang! Back in 1993\, and number 20 in the best rock albums of all time in a Kerrang! SUMMARY:EMF + Scant Regard
DESCRIPTION:EMF are really back and return to Bedford this July. UNBELIEVABLE… no this is not “Lies”. Song title puns endure! \nFormed in 1989 in the quiet town of Cinderford in England’s Forest of Dean\, EMF exploded onto the global stage with their infectious blend of dance\, rock\, and pop. Within a year\, they were everywhere\, thanks to the smash hit “Unbelievable\,” a song that would go on to define a generation and top charts worldwide.\nTheir debut album Schubert Dip (1991) captured their raw energy and genre-defying sound. With follow-ups Stigma (1992) and Cha Cha Cha (1995)\, EMF took fans on an ever-evolving journey\, shifting from dance floor anthems to darker\, more introspective sonic territory. But by 1995 the toll of the spotlight and constant touring was beginning to tell and the band went their separate ways. Before bowing out gracefully\, they released their hit version of The Monkees “I’m a Believer\,” accompanied by comedians Vic and Bob. \nIn 2001\, EMF reunited for a string of shows celebrating their compilation\, The Best of EMF: Epsom Mad Funkers. But just as a full resurgence seemed imminent\, tragedy struck. The sudden passing of Zac Foley in early 2002 shocked the band back into silence.Though they sporadically returned to the stage with new bassist Stevey Marsh and a memorable 2012 live video recording of Schubert Dip and Stigma\, it wasn’t until 2020 that EMF truly reignited. Marking their 30th anniversary\, the band released the expansive box set From Us to You\, which included remastered classics and a disc of b-sides and unreleased archive material called Flipsides and Bonafides. \nFeeling the love from their loyal fans\, James and Ian started writing again\, culminating in the triumphant 2022 release of Go Go Sapiens. \nIn 2025\, EMF were honoured in their hometown with a commemorative blue plaque in Cinderford\, a lasting tribute to the band’s cultural impact and the pride they bring to the Forest of Dean. \nNow\, EMF are not just back\, they’re thriving. Still creating\, still touring\, and still full of the life-affirming energy that made them unforgettable. EMF remain as vital and visionary as ever. \nSpecial guests: SCANT REGARD Will Crewdson’s twangy electro-fried solo project. New 2026 album EXPRESS PURPOSE out now. \nTickets on sale Friday 6th March at 10am

SUMMARY:We Are Scientists
DESCRIPTION:We Are Scientists + Guests \n7;30pm\, Monday 27th July\, Bedford Esquires \nWe Are Scientists is a New York City-based rock band that formed in Berkeley\, California\, in 1999. It consists primarily of guitarist and vocalist Keith Murray and bass guitarist Chris Cain\, with drummer Keith Carne joining the band in the studio and for live performances since 2013. \nThe band have released eight studio albums\, not including their early release Safety\, Fun\, and Learning (In That Order)\, which the band have gone on to describe as more of a rough draft\, than a proper album. The band’s breakthrough success came with their debut studio album\, With Love and Squalor\, which sold 100\,000 copies in the first six months. This was followed by the releases of Brain Thrust Mastery in 2008\, Barbara in 2010\, TV en Français in 2014\, Helter Seltzer in 2016\, Megaplex in 2018\, Huffy in 2021\, Lobes in 2023\, and Qualifying Miles in 2025. \nAs well as music\, Keith and Chris are known for their comedy\, often injecting humour into their interviews\, press-releases and off-the-cuff jokes at their live shows. This has been carried over as part of producing many of their own music video treatments and their 2009 series of television shorts Steve Wants His Money made for MTV\, as well as a podcast series titled Dumpster Dive in 2020. \nThis is not an experiment. You will bounce\, you will laugh\, you will experience joy. \nTickets go on sale at 10am\, Friday 12th June from Seetickets – support to be announced.

SUMMARY:Tragedy: All Metal Tribute to the Bee Gees & Beyond
DESCRIPTION:Tragedy: All Metal Tribute to the Bee Gees & Beyond\n7:30pm Friday 31st July\, Bedford Esquires\n\nTurn it up to number 11\, TRAGEDY are back at Bedford Esquires on Friday 31st July\nTragedy takes disco\, soft-rock and pop classics\, and completely reimagines them as glorious\, red-hot heavy metal. They’re sure to get your head bangin’\, your booty shakin’ – and put a smile on your face and your fist in the air.\nTragedy’s concept\, while subversive and humorous\, goes beyond what many have done in satirical music – they celebrate the soul of the original song\, even while turning the soundscape on its head. The amps are cranked to eleven\, but the emotion is not lost. You discover new meaning in songs that have been a part of your life for as long as you can remember. You laugh and cry. Dance and mosh. And feel newly connected to the disco-metal that was inside you all along.\nTragedy does not lazily rely on the concept or “the joke”. The band plunges deep – blazing musicianship\, tantalizing riffs and stunning vocals. All except for Lance the towelboy. He’s just an idiot.\nBorn out of the impenetrable divide of Disco and Metal\, this group of New York City brothers fearlessly obliterated the truce line that had been set in the great Disco/Metal Peace accord of 1977 when they seamlessly blended the two genres with their debut album\, We Rock Sweet Balls and Can Do No Wrong – a collection of Bee Gees songs redone in a heavy metal treatment reminiscent of Judas Priest\, Motley Crue and Guns N Roses. Since then\, they have crisscrossed the globe with their spectacular live shows\, storming across the USA\, Canada\, UK\, Ireland\, Germany\, Netherlands\, Belgium\, France and Switzerland. On subsequent full length albums\, Humbled By Our Greatness\, Death To False Disco Metal\, The Solo Albums\, The Joy of Sex\, Tragedy Goes to the Movies and #1 Christmas Holiday Party Mix\, Tragedy spread their glittered wings to take on non-Bee Gees classics from the disco era\, soft rock anthems and party jams. In 2015\, Tragedy broke the internet with a viral video featuring their take on You’re the One That I Want from the Grease soundtrack. In 2017\, Tragedy’s video for Stayin’ Alive broke the internet once again. In 2019\, two albums hit the NACC Heavy Top 10 charts.\n\nIn 2021\, Tragedy signed a worldwide record deal with Napalm Records. The first album with Napalm was Disco Balls to the Wall\, released date July 2021. It hit the top 10 in Hard Rock/Metal charts in Europe and the US. I Am Woman was released in March 2023\, with six consecutive weeks on the NACC top 20.\n\nTragedy consistently tours North America\, UK & continental Europe\, having toured with Steel Panther\, Nanowar of Steel and Electric Six. Tragedy has headlined festival stages of events such as SXSW (USA)\, CMJ (USA)\, Musikfest (USA)\, Bloodstock (UK)\, Rebellion (UK)\, Summer Breeze (Germany)\, Foudrock (France)\, Motocultor (France)\, ParkPop (Belgium)\, Glastonbudget (UK)\, Legends of Rock (UK)\, Belladrum (UK) and Hammerfest/Hard Rock Hell (UK).\n\nTickets are on sale now from Seetickets and are available in person from Slide Record Shop and Esquires BarAges: 14+ (U16’s must be accompanied by someone 18+)
