Wolf Law EP
Reviewed by Martin Stapleton

Those bloody young chavs are everywhere. Causing problems, getting into trouble generally and creating a nuisance wherever they go. My solution - join a band and create, just like these lads did nearly two years ago. A lot of water has flowed under the Wolf Law bridge in that time. Antony and Phil have departed, but in Roy, Sean and Jason, the true spirit of The Law is very much alive and kicking. Gigging relentlessly throughout 2007, this year has seen the band take stock and focus solely on recording. Hour upon hour spent practising, spending their time perfecting their craft to produce this, their debut EP. This is the result.

1. Chase Down The Sky
With a Marlboro, Jack Daniels and coke tinged larynx, this is the perfect intoxicating start. The primeval beat twinned with a punk swagger, it shows the bands total grasp of rock mechanics. A psyche-blues kaleidoscope induces a spaced out finale.

2 Swinging The Bottle
Oh yes! A top tune, plus it's a feelgood drinking song! It begs to be joined in as the lyrical chorus of "Swinging the bottle, like an outlaw" constantly rings out true and proud. The song climaxes with the verve and vigour of a true bona-fide rock'n'roll anthem.

3 Times Running Out
A fairly recent song that has a faint 'Clashish' intro which lends itself into an old skool theme. This continues as the punk riff further expands Wolf Law's musical palette. The climactic finish is, to say the least, utterly breathtaking.

4 Hardwired And Hellbent
Another lofty chorus which, as always, is extremely ballsy. The addictive chants include such brazen harmonies. These lads know how to suss out a good tune and the nous to use it. The hypnotic stutter gun guitar assault at the finale is a complete shellshock. Pure shellacking of the brain cells as the volume increases notch by notch.
