They have recreated the look, sound and atmosphere of shows by The Cure and have taken their show around the UK, Spain, France, Italy, Eastern Europe, South America, Japan and The USA.
The Cureheads will be playing a massive fan pleasing mixture of the bands material from all eras from the big original hits as well as classic album tracks and b-sides. Having packed out Esquires on their x2 previous visits we have lined them up for this prime Halloween Party and as an added bonus secured some very special guests for the evening….
Siouxsie & The Budgiees – The Siouxsie Experience.
From the Happy house to the Hong Kong Garden Takeaway the Budgiees aim to please any fans of the Gothic Punk Queen and her Banshees. The UK based band strive to recreate the sounds, shapes and fashion-influencing style of, perhaps one of the most important influencers of the British Avant Garde scene.
The Budgiees are named after The Banshees drummer “Budgie”. They play originals and covers made famous by The Banshees and occasionally are joined onstage by Robert Smith Impersonator “Rabbit Schmidt” from The Cureheads to celebrate the time that Cure frontman Robert Smith was on guitar duty for Siouxsie & The Banshees.
“Sally Holliday of neo-folk supergroup “The Eden House” plays Siouxsie in an amazingly convincing way. Her voice is easily as strong as Siouxsie and the attention to detail in her impression held up well for the entirety of the show. The Budgiees drove the tunes home under “Siouxsie’s” powerful guidance.
This is a 14+ ages show, under 16s to be accompanied by an over 18. The later club night is strictly over 18’s and it free to all gig goers and will take place upstairs in the venue following the end of the live show – Fancy just the alternative club night ?
