Stray - 12th September 2008

I have been a fan of Stray since 1970, and heard from my brother-in-law Ray that Stray were appearing at Esquires in Bedford. After finishing a 10 hour shift travelling to and from Scotland, I got home to Teesside, picked up the wife and travelled to Bedford. We met up with the brother-in-law and my sister and arrived at Esquires for the gig. We had a brilliant night. Great music and a very friendly atmosphere.
I really enjoyed the first band Three Chord Trick. Then Stray came on. Well, what can I say? Del Bromham was fantastic. What a guitarist - lost nothing over the years. Just like the old days. The atmosphere in the room was electric. We were treated to a 2 hour set by Stray playing old and new songs. The sound and lighting were excellent, a good night all round. Then we finished off with a really brilliant evening downstairs in the disco. Thanks Esquires for a great time!
